Week 7 has been and gone in a flash...
This week was all about Matariki. We loved our session with Nan on Wednesday as we began to explore some Maori patterns. We learnt that during Matariki some people fly kites as part of their celebrations. We asked if we could make kites too. We explored some patterns using the traditional red, white and black colours, discovering that the patterns we put on our kites have special meanings which we will investigate further next week.
We are all really proud of our new display and the writing that we have on our art. Mrs Markham and Miss Dyer asked us the question "If you were a kite, where would you fly to." we had some very unique ideas.
Next week is going to be even more action packed as we make kites that we can fly outside.
