Following on from Book Week, we have been learning through Fairy tales and have had lots of fun creating dragons, knights and princesses so far! We are looking forward to learning more about Storytelling later in the term.
Here are some of our fantastic dragon crafts along with a couple of our amazing acrostic poems. We all used our letter sound knowledge to make sure each of our first words started with the letters in the word DRAGON.
And running fast.
Going up in the air.
Over the castle.
kNights charge at dragons
Searching for princesses.
Daddy dragons protecting the children.
Air rushes past.
Great big sharp claws.
Orange fire comes out of their mouths.
Dragons are scary.
Running dragons chasing people.
Angry dragons eating people.
Green dragons fighting knights.
Orange fire coming out of its throat.
Naughty dragons capturing princesses.
Sorry dragons! Blue drips coming from its eyes.
Today marked the start of the Friday ski option for some of our children and we are all VERY excited about our School Ski Trip on Monday. We have our fingers and toes crossed that the weather is good for us!
Miss Dyer will be going along with those children carrying out the Friday ski option.
Next week we will be holding our in class Poem recital which is very exciting! From this competition, our winners will then present their poems at our school wide speech competition on the Tuesday the 14th of August. We are practicing hard every day to recite our poems using a loud, clear voice and with good expression. We are all doing a great job.
During our weekly Te Reo sessions with Nan, we have started to learn the days of the week in Maori. We are doing this through waiata and are quickly picking up the new terms. Here is one of the songs we have been learning.
We love to sing and are looking forward to learning some new songs this term as well.
